Enjoy the creative and sensory experience with edible Nutella chocolate play dough!
It’s a delicious twist on traditional play dough that kids (and adults) will love.

I made this delicious Nutella chocolate play dough with my youngest daughter and she had so much fun making the dough with me and playing with it.
And yes, she couldn’t resist eating some and me too!
We even added some colourful sprinkles and saved some for her sisters to join in on the fun too.

Nutella Edible Play Dough Recipe:

Ingredients:

– 1 cup Nutella (or any hazelnut chocolate spread)
– 2 cups powdered sugar (confectioner’s sugar)
– 1/2 cup cornstarch
– 1/4 cup cocoa powder
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions:

1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
– In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Mix well until evenly combined.

2. Add Nutella and Oil:
– Add the Nutella and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients in the bowl.

3. Knead Until Smooth:
– Use your hands to knead the mixture until it forms a smooth and pliable dough. If the dough feels too sticky, you can add a bit more powdered sugar (icing sugar) or cornstarch until it reaches the desired consistency.

4. Play Time!
– Now that your Nutella play dough is ready, it’s time to play! Here are some fun ways to enjoy it:

How to Play with Nutella Play Dough:

1. Sensory Exploration:
– Let children explore the texture and smell of the Nutella play dough. It’s a great sensory experience!

2. Shape and Mold:
– Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes or roll the dough into balls and squish them into different shapes and sizes.

3. Imaginative Play:
– Encourage imaginative play by pretending to bake cookies, make pretend food, or create miniature sculptures.

4. Fine Motor Skills:
– Use small tools like plastic knives, forks, or rolling pins to enhance fine motor skills while playing with the dough.

5. Tips:
– I recommend to have a plate with a thin layer of either powdered sugar or cornstarch for them to dab their hands on if the chocolate play dough starts to get a bit sticky.

6.Clean-Up:
– Store the Nutella play dough in an airtight container when not in use. It should last for several days if kept properly sealed.

I hope you and your children have as much fun with has we did.

A budget option would be to replace the Nutella and the powdered sugar with shop branded ones. (Aldi/Tesco etc)

Consume in moderation:
It’s important to monitor how much edible chocolate play dough the kids consume. While it can be fun to play with and is safe to eat in small quantities, consuming too much can lead to stomachaches or other health issues due to its sugar content. Always supervise playtime and set limits to ensure they enjoy it safely.
